Job Title: Planning Solicitor Location: Birmingham / Hybrid Salary: 50,000 - 65,000 DOE A highly regarded law firm in Birmingham is seeking a talented Planning Solicitor to join its expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and respected Planning team, handling both contentious and non-contentious planning law matters.You will be advising a wide variety of clients, including public sector bodies, landowners, developers, and other professionals involved in the development process. The team is led by a nationally recognised expert in securing public authority contributions through Section 106 agreements and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), with a focus on mitigating development impacts on population and health.What youll be doing:Advising on the Town and Country Planning Act, Section 106 agreements, CIL, planning enforcement, judicial reviews, and Environmental Impact Assessments.Representing clients in both contentious and non-contentious planning law matters.Managing a varied caseload while building strong client relationships.Working closely with a team of specialists and collaborating across the firm to provide integrated advice.Keeping abreast of changes in planning law and legislation.What were looking for:3-5 years PQE in planning law, with experience in advising on complex planning issues.Solicitors with experience in Commercial Real Estate, Licensing, or Environmental Law backgrounds are also welcome to apply, particularly those interested in transitioning into planning law.Strong commercial awareness and proven client management abilities.Proactive approach to staying updated on developments in planning law.Excellent business development and networking skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.Proficiency in relevant IT systems and software.Whats on offer:Competitive salary.24 days annual leave plus bank holidays.2 additional days holiday over Christmas (usually Christmas Eve and New Years Eve).Option to purchase up to 3 extra days holiday.8% pension (4% employee contribution, 4% employer).Life Assurance (4x salary).This is an excellent opportunity for a Planning Solicitor to join a forward-thinking, growing team, with the chance to work on a broad range of planning matters and develop your career within a supportive environment.To apply: Please submit your CV and a cover letter to Tammara.Kent@g2legal.com or contact G2 Legal for more information.
