If so, we want to hear from you.About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and skilled Design Engineer to join our engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Director and Design Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of engineering tasks and manage them from project outset through to delivery, ensuring all requirements and milestones are met.Youll be responsible for planning, executing, and communicating design progress, contributing both technically and strategically across a range of offshore projects from topside to subsea. You will also play a key role in supporting the development of junior engineers and collaborating across teams, clients, and suppliers.Key ResponsibilitiesManage assigned design tasks from inception to delivery in line with engineering processes and project deadlines.Work closely with project stakeholders to define scope, milestones, and schedules.Lead and participate in project meetings, including kick-off sessions, concept and design reviews.Proactively engage with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure successful delivery.Deliver high-quality engineering outputs, identifying any scope changes early.Take full ownership of technical aspects of allocated projects.Develop URS documentation, conceptual designs, and detailed engineering solutions.Perform mechanical and structural calculations and finite element analysis (FEA).Produce and check CAD drawings, supporting documents, and ensure compliance with industry standards.Present and chair design reviews, clearly communicating solutions and ideas.Support sales and proposal teams with design input and feasibility reviews.Mentor and assist in the training of graduate and junior engineers.About YouEssential Skills and Experience:Minimum 3 years experience in the offshore industry.Strong background in structural and mechanical design for offshore environments (topside and subsea).Proven experience preparing and presenting design packs for third-party appraisal.Proficiency in FEA and structural analysis software.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Skilled in 2D/3D CAD for mechanical and structural applications.Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.Capable of producing high-quality technical documentation and reports.Committed to continuous improvement and delivering engineering excellence.Why Join Us?Work on high-impact offshore engineering projects.Be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team.Opportunities for career growth, training, and mentorship.Competitive salary and benefits package.A dynamic work environment with a strong focus on innovation and quality.Apply NowIf youre ready to take the next step in your engineering career and make a tangible impact in the offshore sector, apply today by submitting your CV and a brief cover letter to carolyn@peoplewithenergy.co.uk.
