Job Description

As an Estimator at Clark Door, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our industrial door projects are accurately estimated, efficiently planned, and cost-effective. Your responsibilities will include assessing potential projects, preparing precise quotations, and liaising with clients and suppliers. You will work closely with the sales, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely project delivery and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial doors, manufacturing processes, and construction practices, combined with excellent attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCost Estimation and AnalysisDevelop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for bespoke industrial door solutions, encompassing materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor costs, and other associated expenses.Utilize advanced estimating techniques to ensure all estimates are detailed, consistent, and aligned with industry best practices.Conduct in-depth analysis of project size, complexity, and specific customer requirements to provide realistic and competitive pricing.Continuously review historical cost data and market trends to improve accuracy in future estimations and maintain a competitive edge.Preparation of Professional QuotationsProduce clear, concise, and detailed quotations that meet client specifications and requirements.Ensure quotations are commercially competitive while maintaining profitability and compliance with company objectives.Effectively communicate the scope of work, cost breakdowns within the quotations to enhance transparency and client understanding.Technical Documentation and ComplianceInterpret and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure all project requirements are accurately captured within the estimate.Identify potential discrepancies or challenges in technical documentation and proactively propose solutions.Ensure compliance with all relevant technical standards, legal regulations, and safety requirements during the estimation process.Risk Assessment and ManagementConduct thorough risk evaluations for each project, identifying potential technical, financial, and logistical challenges.Evaluate potential risk and incorporate potential contingencies into the estimation process.Client and Supplier LiaisonBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a point of contact throughout the estimation stage.Address client queries, providing guidance on bespoke industrial door solutions and related considerations.Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate cost information.Collaboration with Internal TeamsWork closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless transition from client inquiry to project estimation.Collaborate with manufacturing teams to confirm feasibility, production capacity, and material requirements for bespoke solutions.Reporting and DocumentationMaintain thorough and accurate records of estimates, quotations, and supporting documentation for all projects.Contribute to the development and refinement of internal estimation processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Continuous Improvement and Market AwarenessMonitor industry developments, competitor offerings, and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation or cost optimization.Actively participate in internal review processes to evaluate project performance and identify lessons learned for future improvementsOTHER RESPONSIBILITIESConfidentialityTo observe and maintain strict confidentiality in respect of colleagues, clients and all company information.Health and SafetyTo carry out the duties in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.DiversityHave due regard to equal opportunities at all times, and to work in a fair and reasonable manner towards all people, ensuring service standards are maintained for all staff.QualityProvide support in striving to create a client service culture with total commitment to quality.Other Duties The duties and responsibilities in this role profile are not exhaustive.
