Main duties of the jobWe are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our paediatric Spinal team as a band 7 clinical nurse specialist. We are the centre for paediatric spinal services for children across the Wessex Region including the Channel Isles. This role will give you the ability to work autonomously as well as being a core member of the multidisciplinary team providing clinical care to patients; education to professionals, parents and carers; and will give you the opportunity to be involved in service provision and development for the future. You will manage a patient caseload, to agreed referral/discharge criteria, and act as key worker. Effectively work in partnership with other professionals and refer patients to other practitioners as required. You will provide appropriate information and education to patients and their families to promote health and encourage self-care and participation in the planned programme of treatment and care. A large part of the role requires you to provide education to the families and carers of patients and to coordinate the discharge planning required to allow for patients to return and thrive in community settings.
