Role: Content SpecialistLocation: Working from homeReports to: Head of CommunicationsAbout the roleAs a content specialist, you will be expected to research and write a range of communication, awareness and training materials that engage our clients' employees. Some of our resources are created for delivery through a learning platform and as a content specialist you will be responsible for refreshing materials following an annual schedule.In addition, you will have exceptional proofreading skills to aid the content team with their quality control processes. You will be key in ensuring that the content we produce, is of the highest quality and standard.Job descriptionContent creation and quality controlYour responsibilities are to:Be a key member of our content team, supporting the business to produce messaging and content, or refreshing existing content, for a range of digital and printed channels.Develop the messaging and approach that works for every audience and channel, whether it's a new eLearning course, intranet articles, animated infographics, games or refreshing existing client content.Create compelling, engaging and creative copy that raise clients' employees' security awarenessRefresh existing materials with up-to-date content, following an annual refresher schedule.Ensure the content you produce is of the highest quality: tightly drafted, grammatically correct and adhering to clients' requirements, style guides and mandated tone of voice.Conduct research and identify new and emerging threats across the security industry.Provide subject matter expertise within the company and to clients, as needed.Be an integral part of the quality control (QC) process across the organisation, assisting our teams in proofreading their internal and external content, including editing materials as appropriate.QC materials at all stages of production including design and build.Transform volumes of dry client policy into engaging content, in order for the materials to be understood by people at all levels in the organisation.Manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently while staying organised, communicating effectively, and collaborating with TSC colleagues.Work with the marketing team to produce external materials such as Insider articles, ensuring content is created based on the latest research and using appropriate tone and style.Relationship managementUse of collaborative tools, such as Teams, to build effective relationships with TSC clients, managing expectations and communicating effectively and professionally.Use your experience to be a source of advice and expertise for TSC colleagues and clientsregarding internal communication strategies.Create communications strategies / plans for clients as needed.Brief internal teams, such as design and eLearning build teams on the messaging, layout and functionality of the materials.Work with TSCs client project managers to ensure profitability within a given budget.Essential knowledge requirementsKnowledge of Microsoft office applicationsKnowledge of communication channels and their purposeEssential skillsExceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify grammatical errors and content inconsistencies efficiently and with accuracyExcellent research skillsArticulate and effective communicator, both verbally and in writingStrong team player engaging, confident and flexible in approachSelf-management and planning of your work schedule with a high level of accountabilityAbility to work on multiple projects at any one time delivering on deadlinesDesirable skillsData analysis on engagement levels to inform messaging that is successfulEssential experienceTo have written content for a range of channels using a variety of stylesDesirable experienceDelivery of internal communications campaignsCreated scripts for animated infographicsCreated content for eLearning coursesEssential behaviours and approachPassionate about writingAdopts a creative approachIs a team playerProactive in seeking solutionsCustomer focusedEager to learn and understands the importance of feedback and how to use it to further your professional developmentThe company ethos and benefitsThe Security Company is a family-owned business with our team made up of smart, creative, driven professionals drawn from many industries.
