JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: Lead PurchaserREPORTING TO: Head of OperationsAREAS OF RESPONSIBILTY: ProcurementOperational NeedsThe Lead Purchasers responsibility is to develop purchasing processes and strategies, maintaining and developing positive relationships with suppliers, internal teams regarding supply needs, and having overall responsibility of the purchasing process.Role requirements:Experienced in working with ERP systemsDrive communication and build effective relationships with all key stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure the needs and expectations aligned.Take ownership of all procurement projects and tasks and ensure smooth end-to-end service deliveryIdentify potential new suppliers, manage current suppliers, negotiating terms, whilst staying in budget and maintaining quality Achieve key targets (KPIs) set by the Head of Operations including but not limited to:on-time delivery, supplier performance, inventory control, PPV (Purchase Price Variance) and price reduction projects, etc.Manage and support logistic partnerships with freight and courier companies.Any other reasonable duties as required Sustainable Impact: Manage supply chain risk in and out of the business, and communicate this in a timely manner.Help create and maintain appropriate supply agreements.Identify new suppliers for the business who can offer new, innovative ideas to support new and current designs.Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.Work collectively with the engineering department to achieve NPD (New Product Development) targets for product designsZero environmental incidents.Compliance and documentation in line with company policies, industry standards and regulatory requirementsPeople Health and management:Manage, mentor and support your direct reports using guidance, one to ones, training and PDR process to facilitate this.Travel will be required from time to time in UK, Europe and sometimes worldwide either yourself or a team member.Cross train between all other supply chain departmentsAdditional Experience and SkillsCIPS qualification, Diploma or equivalent (not essential but desirable)Have excellent negotiation skillsExperience working in a manufacturing environmentExperience of auditing suppliers on-siteDriven, with a can-do attitude and a will to develop new skills and progress within the Company should opportunities arise.Experience of forecasting and setting safety stocksStrong IT skillset Keen attention to detail and accuracy.Good technical background and ability to read an engineering drawing (not essential but desirable)BenefitsYearly bonus (discretionary dependant on company performance)25 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro rataUp to 16% Company pension (9% employer, 7% employee) from pay period.Company sick pay (after probation)Ongoing professional developmentState of the art building and working environment.Wellness programmes for mental healthCycle to work schemeLife insuranceFree ParkingAbout the Job and onboarding process:Probation Period: 6 monthWorking hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm
