Job Title: Deputy Manager (Childrens Residential Home)Location: WoolstoneSalary: 32,042 rising to 33,664 plus an additional 3,000 - 6,000 for sleep-insAbout the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager (DM) for a children's residential home in Woolstone. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional looking to take the next step in their career within the social care sector. You will be instrumental in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people in care.Key Responsibilities:Support the Registered Manager in the daily operations of the home, ensuring a high standard of care and compliance with OFSTED regulations.Lead, mentor, and supervise the care team to promote a positive and supportive work environment.Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies tailored to the individual needs of young people.Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, responding to any concerns appropriately.Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and external agencies to support holistic care.Oversee staff training and development to maintain high levels of competency within the team.Participate in the on-call rota and support staff during sleep-in shifts when necessary.Requirements:Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is preferred but candidates with a Level 3 in Health & Social Care and minimal experience working with children will be considered.Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively.Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant social care legislation.Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins.Benefits:Competitive salary with additional sleep-in payments.Career progression opportunities within a growing organisation.Ongoing training and development to enhance your skills.Supportive and collaborative work environment.If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people and are looking for a rewarding leadership role, we encourage you to apply.
