About the roleWe are recruiting two Performance and Risk Analysts to be part of the Independent Commission for Reconciliation and Information Recovery (ICRIR). This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference to society in Northern Ireland and across the United Kingdom.The postholder will work closely with the Senior Performance Analyst and the Risk Manager to develop performance and risk management systems and reporting in the Commission. Close liaison with colleagues in the Investigations, Findings, Strategy and Corporate Directorates will be essential to understand data requirements, and the postholder will need to form constructive and effective working relationships at all levels across the Commission.One of the main objectives of this role will be developing and maintaining our performance and risk reporting capabilities using Microsoft Excel and Power BI to deliver impactful solutions that drive informed decision-making. The post holder will also support the delivery of regular performance and risk reporting to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board.The Performance and Risk team are Belfast based and this role will be based with the team in Belfast.Key responsibilitiesThe postholder will:Support the Senior Performance Analyst and the Risk Manager in the implementation and delivery of the Performance Framework and Risk Management Framework.Support the Senior Performance Analyst and the Risk Manager in the preparation of papers for the Executive Leadership Team and Board on strategic and operational performance and risk.Performance Lead: Support the Senior Performance Analyst on data development within the Commission and conduct regular data quality checks on operational IT systems.Risk Lead: Support the Risk Manager in the preparation of papers for the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) and providing support and advice to Directorate risk owners.Develop and maintain performance dashboards and reports using Power BI to effectively present information.Interpret data using analytical techniques to identify patterns, trends and emerging risks.Attend relevant working groups as required to ensure awareness of any operational or organisational changes.Support development and maintenance of reporting on performance and risk measures to ensure accurate monitoring of delivery of the Commissions Strategy.We welcome the unique contribution diverse applicants bring and do not discriminate based on culture, ethnicity, race, nationality or national origin, age, sex, gender identity or expression, religion or belief, disability status, sexual orientation, educational or social background or any other factor.Essential criteriaPerformance and risk knowledgePerformance Lead: Strong record of working with corporate systems and databases containing quantitative and qualitative data.Risk Lead: Experience of using risk assessment methods.Experience of using analytical techniques and problem-solving skills.Technical skillsStrong technical background including excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis.Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications using Power BI.Personal effectivenessA high degree of initiative and organisational skills, with the ability to deal effectively with conflicting demands, operate under pressure, and deliver results in a challenging and fast paced environment.Building relationshipsA track record of developing effective working relationships and working collaboratively with a range of colleagues at different grades and positions.Communication skillsStrong written communication skills with experience in drafting reports, papers or organisational documents.ProfessionalismDemonstrate the values set out in the ICRIR Code of Conduct.Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for SC clearance, if not already cleared.Desirable criteria Knowledge and experience of operating in Northern IrelandExperience of working with highly sensitive information and intelligencePlease ensure you have provided reasons for any gaps within the last two years.
