Business Development Manager & Bid Writer Location: Chelmsford Office (with some travel) Reports to: Business Development Director Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9:00am 5:30pm) Salary: 40k-60k per annum performance bonus Flexible Working: Up to 2 days remote (after probation) Holiday: 20 days bank holidays Christmas break About the Role We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager & Bid Writer to help grow our clients customer base and secure new opportunities. You will play a key role in winning new projects, maintaining client relationships, and driving business growth. Key Responsibilities Business Development Identify and pursue new clients and sectors. Attend networking events and industry forums. Develop strategies for expanding into new markets. Maintain strong relationships with existing clients. Organise follow-ups, meetings, and feedback sessions. Identify opportunities to add value to current clients. Represent Scene Architects at industry events. Bid Writing & Management Identify and assess bid opportunities. Prepare compelling proposals, EOIs, and PQQs. Ensure compliance with bid requirements. Maintain a library of bid resources and case studies. Address social value requirements in bids. Oversee the entire bid process, ensuring timely submissions. Conduct post-bid reviews to improve future submissions. Collaboration & Strategy Work closely with marketing to align branding and messaging. Share market intelligence to refine business strategies. Contribute to marketing materials and presentations. Participate in strategic planning with leadership. What Were Looking For Proven experience in business development and bid writing (architecture or construction preferred). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organisational and project management abilities. Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach. Proficiency in CRM systems, bid platforms, and office tools.
