Supported by the on site Surgery Team Leader, you will play a key role in providing an efficient, safe and responsive service. Main duties of the jobThis role would offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their supervisory and leadership skills whilst being supported by the site Surgery Team Lead and Surgery Team Manager. The successful applicant must possess excellent communication skills and have some experience of supervising colleagues. Whilst experience of primary care is not essential, it will be advantageous. About usPortsdown Group Practice covers the whole of Portsmouth from postcodes PO1 to PO7. We operate from 6 surgeries: Cosham Park House (PO6 3BG), Crookhorn Lane (PO7 5XP), Heyward Road (PO4 0DY), Kingston Crescent (PO2 8AL), Paulsgrove (PO6 4HJ), and Somerstown (PO5 4EZ). We are our own Primary Care Network (PCN). We have Clinical Partners, Salaried GPs and a comprehensive Nursing and extended clinical team overseen by our Clinical Team Manager. The team consists of Nurse / Paramedic Practitioners, Registered Nurses, HCAs, MSK Physiotherapists, Podiatrist, Dietitian, Social Prescribers and Care Co-ordinators. The Pharmacy team consists of Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. The Practice is well established, financially secure and successful. Job responsibilitiesAssist with the smooth day-to-day running of the site and work within the Reception Team. The post holder will work closely with (and under the direction of) the Surgery Team Leader to provide a first class reception service and actively implement the continual improvement of standards across a wide range of activities. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Ensure all reception and administration duties are completed to the highest standards Ensure site compliance with Practice and Statutory obligations including (but not limited to) fire, security and health and safety measures Support and provide resilience for Surgery Team Leader on site as and when required Person SpecificationQualificationsGood Standard of English and Maths NVQ in Customer Service or equivalent SkillsAbility to work under pressure Ability to prioritise Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner Able to motivate others Appropriate use of initiative Quality improvement ExperienceAt least 2 years' experience in a customer facing role Demonstrable Team Lead or Supervisory experience Previous experience in a healthcare setting Oversight / management of change in a work environment KnowledgeCustomer service principles Information Governance / GDPR Knowledge of clinical systems Knowledge of local healthcare initiatives e.g. Pharmacy First Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
