Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work under the direction of the ward manager with responsibility for: The assessment of care needs for all patients, ensuring appropriately planned care is both implemented and evaluated. Working with minimal supervision and taking charge of the ward in the absence of the manager. Providing care to patients without supervision to facilitate the prevention of admission or reduction in hospitalisation. Acting as an effective clinical leader and ensuring the clinical and professional development of all staff for whom they are responsible. Assisting in providing clinical cover in all areas of the paediatric unit as necessary.
