Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit an Advanced Echo Physiologist to join our Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute. This is a full-time role with the following shift patterns: between Monday - Friday during the service hours of 08:00-20:00. Including a Saturday working rotation (approximately 1 in 10 weeks with additional renumeration). Flexible on working patterns (either long or short working days). What makes us different? This position is for an accredited echocardiography physiologist or clinical scientist (BSE accredited or equivalent) who possesses knowledge and experience in advanced echocardiography techniques such as stress, transoesophageal, bubble, contrast, 3D/4D/GLS echocardiography. The successful candidate would perform independent scanning for their own transthoracic echocardiography lists. Moreover, they would be required to independently report on clinical findings and effectively escalate findings based on expert opinion. Cleveland Clinic London has been aware British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) departmental accreditation across transthoracic, stress, transoesophageal, emergency echocardiography and training. What will your duties include? Perform BSE standard echocardiography examinations and reports to ensure the provision of a high-quality advanced adult echo service. Work as a team with our echo cardiologists to deliver specialised stress, transoesophageal and cardiopulmonary stress echo services. Ensure that personal knowledge is kept up to date and reflects current requirements in clinical echocardiography. Provide training, guidance and support for fellow echo physiologists, junior staff, and clinical fellows, and where required oversee and take professional responsibility for the trainee's clinical work. Assist with echocardiography education sessions throughout Cleveland Clinic London. Contribute to the development of innovative practices within the department, such as advanced clinical practice. Participate in research projects where required - overseen by the Institute Lead. Manage personal workload and assist other members of staff where required. Act as the person is charge of echo (as required), assisting with the smooth running of day-to-day operations within the department. Other duties assigned. What we need from you? BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent. Accreditation with BSE or equivalent. ILS certification. Extensive experience and independent practice in echocardiography including performing, analysing, interpreting, and reporting. Experience with specialised echocardiography (i.e., contrast, stress echo, bubble echo, and/or TOE). Knowledge of advanced modalities such as 3D/4D and GLS. Relevant advanced clinical postgraduate qualification, MSc, or STP - desirable. HCPC registration as a clinical scientist or working towards STP equivalence - desirable. ALS certification - desirable. Previous experience in physiologist led services: i.e. valve, heart failure - desirable. Previous experience of clinical or academic teaching - desirable.
