Deputy Head of Additional Learning Support Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week) Salary: 42,779 per annum. Generous Occupational Pension Scheme (Local Government Pension Scheme) About the role Reporting to and deputising for the Head of Additional Learning Support, you will leading a team responsible for enhancing the accessibility and inclusivity of teaching, learning and assessment at York College. You will play a critical role in developing a high standard of service delivery to students, so that they are successful and can proceed to the next stage of their development. About the Person You will have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and its application within the post-16 education sector. You will also possess significant experience in working within an educational environment, preferably at the further education level, supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities.With a proven track record in leading and managing a team, and providing guidance, training, and support to staff, you will be adept at implementing inclusive practices and interventions that improve student outcomes. Experience in contributing toward the enhancement of support practices across education provisions is essential. About the College We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses to courses for professional development. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 5 across a range of different career pathways.
