Job Description

.Job title: PBS Practitioner Location: London - East London, Wood Green and Wembley. Requires travel to Milton Keynes twice a month and occasionally to Birmingham, Peterborough, Gloucester and Torquay. Salary: 39,000 (including outer London weighting) Contract: Full time permanent role Overall purpose of role: To develop, model and implement PBS strategies and interventions that increase the quality of life of people with learning disabilities and Autistic people, supporting staff to understand what PBS involves and to develop their skills Key Responsibilities: Take a leading role in implementing PBS, reducing restrictive practices and ensuring that we work within regulatory requirements, national policy and sector best practice guidance. Develop, model and implement PBS strategies and interventions that increase the quality of life of people with Learning Disabilities and Autistic people. Work alongside the support teams to promote PBS, offering guidance, support, coaching and training. Complete Functional Assessments of behaviours of concern and produce PBS plans with including function-based strategies and interventions. Support the implementation of capable environments standards in every service Line manage PBS assistant Practitioners. Undertake other duties from time to time as required by the Head of Practice Development. Requirements for this post: Significant experience of working with Autistic people and people with learning disabilities who use behaviours of concern. Experience of supporting others to develop their skills and knowledge. Significant experience of completing Functional Assessments of behaviours of concern. Good understanding of relevant sector legislation, national policy and best practice guidance. A relevant qualification.
