Job Introduction Job descriptionAt Turning Point, we support people with Learning Disabilities across England.As a Wellbeing and Community Navigator, you will make a real difference to peoples' lives as you improve their daily living skills. Passionate about people, you will enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life and career too, as you gain the experience and training you need to progress with us.Where will I be working?Our Warwickshire Wellbeing Service provides advice, information, support and workshops to people with Learning Disabilities and Autismin Warwickshire over the age of 16. We support our service users to make positive changes and to lead more independent lives. Activity will take place in a variety of community settings where people can access short-term 1-1 support, attend workshops and pop in for advice and information. Activity will also be through accessible alternatives including face to face contact, via the telephone or online.The Wellbeing and Community Navigator will also provide signposting information to family carers.Shift PatternsWorking hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. There is also a requirement to work some evenings and potentially weekends, as the service requires. Role Responsibility What will I be doing?This is a hands-on job where no two days are the same. Your duties will include:Provide information and advice via 1 to 1 drop in sessionsFacilitate problem solving and goal setting skills through 1 to 1 wellbeing sessions, including the development of individual wellbeing plansFacilitate group wellbeing workshops and contribute to improvements based on evaluationFacilitate opportunities to connect to local community and universal servicesNetworking with relevant external stakeholders to develop community links and garner referralProvide information and signposting to partner activities which contribute to our 5 key required outcomes:Help increase emotional wellbeingHelp improve the lives of service users in the communitySupport people into learning, jobs or voluntary workHelp improve the physical health of our service usersHelp improve the home life of our service users The Ideal Candidate What skills and qualities do I need to have?Knowledge of Learning Disabilities and Autism is essential for this role and we are looking for somebody who is:Passionate, caring and enthusiasticFlexible, patient and non-judgmentalA great team player with lots of energyAble to demonstrate good communication skillsAn excellent problem solver with innovative ways of workingYou must also have a driving license and your own vehicle as this role requires frequent travel across the region.
