Contract as an Engine Test Technician in a World-class large engine development facility in StaffordSupporting the division in the development of new and existing products. The Test Engineering Team have responsibility for the build, instrumentation, testing and assessment of large diesel and gas fuelled engines.Briefly you will have a mix of the followingCity Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in an automotive mechanical subjectIMechE accreditationA demonstrated knowledge of working on diesel or gas engine test programsMechanical/electrical experience on diesel engines, stripping & rebuilding, along with a good automotive or off-highway mechanical background desirableInstrumentation experience including thermocouples, pressure transducers, flowmeters, emissions analysers, etcA good knowledge of engine test systems (DSG, Cadet, PUMA) and test schedule writingExposure to ECU controller software packages.Modification of engine electrical harnesses for a test cell environmentAwareness of low voltage electrical systems associated with genset applicationsThe experience required is Mechanical/electrical experience on diesel engines, stripping & rebuilding, along with a good automotive or off-highway mechanical background desirableInstrumentation experience including thermocouples, pressure transducers, flowmeters, emissions analysers, etcA good knowledge of engine test systems (DSG, Cadet, PUMA) and test schedule writingExposure to ECU controller software packages.Modification of engine electrical harnesses for a test cell environmentOver to you!
