An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client a leading defence prime, they are now looking to recruit a Senior Electronic Design Engineer, to work out of their Basildon site.Job Description:Do you want to help deliver cutting edge high fidelity thermal imaging and airborne sensor products? Due to the growth of the business area, the client have an opportunity for an Electronic Design Engineer to join their Sensors Team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation.If successful, you will be joining a dedicated multi-disciplined Integrated Project Team (IPT) with a full and stretching workload presenting vast potential for personal growth and professional development.What you will doSupporting the precision guidance (PG) programmes, you will support new designs undertaking the following activities.Requirement definition and support to generation of verification plansElectronic design analysis, circuit simulation and prototypingElectronic schematic capture and PCB layout supportPower supply and interface circuit design for digital processors and microcontrollersHigh-speed digital design – including FPGA, DDR and high speed LVDS video designsTesting and debugging of electronic circuitsDevelopment of subsystem engineering solutions and specificationsCabling and connector specificationsIntegration and Verification of System and Sub-SystemsSupport to Qualification (including EMC)Production and Delivery supportThis opportunity presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation. In this broad electronic engineering role, you will work across a range of projects throughout various stages of the product lifecycle from initial concept development through to early life production support and on to support of existing fielded designs.What we need from you, and you really must have:SC clearance, or be able to obtain it.Knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycleExperience of:Digital & Analogue Electronic design knowledgeBoard level PCB design (ideally using Siemens EDA Xpedition Enterprise)Operating at the product system levelSpecifying and defining COTS itemsWorking with subcontract suppliersSpecifying cable and connector solutionsSystem level integrationAbility to make technical decisions within own sphere of responsibilityWillingness to work proactively within a fast moving and dynamic environmentIt would be nice if you had:Safety, Security and other legislative constraints knowledgeDomain experience in Electronics Warfare and Thermal Imaging SystemsPlease send a copy of your CV in the first instance.Synergize Consulting is committed to equality and diversity in our workplace.
