This role does not offer sponsorship.As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our close-knit team at Bramfield House School located in Suffolk.About the roleThe Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing various tasks related to maintaining and repairing the physical condition of the school building and equipment. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of facilities and systems through preventive maintenanceKey Result AreasMaintain both school grounds and buildings to high standards.Provide the school with a safe environment for all pupils, staff, visitors and contractors.Site security.Ensure reactive maintenance is dealt with in a timely and safe mannerHave a proactive attitude to maintenance on a daily basisHelp to supervise works carried out by external contractors and service providersEnsure Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed, including the reporting of incidents as appropriate.To respond effectively to all repairs and maintenance, ensuring a safe and well cared for environment for all.Help to prepare work schedules covering school holidaysReport breaches of Health and Safety to Estate ManagerTo carry out any relative works that the Estate Manager deems appropriate.Any other duties that may be required from time to time that are commensurate with the roleEnsure that all buildings on site are secure and locked at the end of the school dayDesirable Skills and CompetenciesExperience of working within an educational settingRecognised Trade qualificationsCertification/Qualification in Information TechnologySupervisory experienceRequiredFull UK driving licenseAbout usBramfield House School is an independent residential special educational needs school for boys aged 7 16 years who have social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, located in rural Suffolk.
