About the roleThe Valve Technician will be responsible for carrying out overhauls, tests and recertification on different types of valves and actuators.ResponsibilitiesEnsure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructionsOverhaul and recertification of relief valves including conventional, balances bellows, pilot operated and vacuum typesOverhaul, test, and recertification of all isolation valve typesOverhaul, test and recertification of all control valves, actuators, and ancillary equipmentOverhaul, test, and recertification of all actuator typesTroubleshooting and problem solving of all valve and actuator issuesProvide core competence in use of valve flushing and sealant injection servicesProvide core competence in use of all torque and tensioning equipmentExecution of risk assessments and hazard assessments (Start Cards) on all related work scopesProvide technical support to all valve workshop teamsAbility to work effectively as an individual and as part of a teamPlan and coordinate any project or shutdown work as and when requiredConduct site surveys and produce detailed reports of the equipment detailed above in accordance with the client and/or the company’s requirementsEnsure all workshop equipment and tooling are maintained regularly and all records kept up to dateResponsible for the general housekeeping within and surrounding the departmentQualifications and experience:Experience in an engineering backgroundNVQ Level 3 in relevant technical discipline is preferredSkills and Behaviours:Accurate and quality-conscious attitude towards all aspects of roleStrong problem solving and planning skills are essentialAbility to work as part of a team within the workshop and wider businessAble to share ideas with team and seek advice when requiredAbout Us With facilities in over thirty locations spanning five continents, Score employs more than 2000 people, including 230 apprentices.
