Guide engineers implementing GD&T into designsWork closely with the Engineering Analysis team (FEA) to meet design targets and drive the most cost-effective solutionsWork closely with Manufacturing to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and to control the engineering change process. Ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) philosophy is integrated into designsCommunicate with the department manager to ensure you have the required level of support and help when requiredSupport Programme team to ensure project deliverables are achievedMaintain communication with internal and external customers on a regular basisLead the sign off process for whole vehicle package in line with NPI guidelinesParticipate in formal and on the job training which will be provided regards the use of software and design techniques.Support and mentor the engineers within your team with your experience and knowledgeEssential SkillsEngineering degree or equivalent within a relevant subject The vehicle packaging engineer will be experienced in vehicle design and manufacturing techniques to ensure support on multiple projectsLead level experience and Knowledge within the Vehicle Packaging disciplineStrong Understanding of CAD and CAE Literacy using Catia V5High level of Engineering design knowledgeGD&T, can demonstrate good understandingAbility and awareness of design to manufacturing processUnderstanding importance of managing engineering change requests and claim managementAbility to work efficiently within your role Understanding of budget managementStrong communication skillsExcels in organisational skills and time managementA drive to learn and improve at every opportunityWillingness to support others Positive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes.Desirable SkillsExperience preparing and managing a budgetExperience of leading a team of engineersPlease note we do not provide sponsorships to those who require it and will only accept applications from those who have full rights to work in the UK with no restrictions and IDLR status.
