Shipping and Freight ManagerLocation: Edinburgh / Surrounding Area (Office) & Leith (Yard)Travel: Occasional UK client and supplier site visitsDriving License: RequiredSalary: £35,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)Hours: 40-hour work week (flexible hours based on business needs)Leave: 30 days (including bank holidays)Probation: 6 monthsPension: Statutory requirementAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Product & Rental Fleet Manager to oversee yard operations, logistics, and fleet management. This role involves coordinating freight logistics, managing stock and inventory, and ensuring compliance with company processes and industry standards. The successful candidate will work closely with another manager to oversee day-to-day operations effectively.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate UK and international freight shipments, including sea and air freightEnsure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and certification requirementsOversee yard operations, including stock control, container handling, and quarterly stock takesManage the return, inspection, and maintenance of rental equipmentIssue Certificates of Conformance as requiredMaintain health 'safety standards and provide training to yard staffCollaborate with management to develop and implement operational improvementsRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong computer proficiency, including Outlook and ExcelExperience in freight forwarding and logistics managementKnowledge of stock control, container handling, and yard operationsFamiliarity with issuing Certificates of ConformanceProven ability to ensure compliance with company processes and industry regulationsComfortable working collaboratively with another manager to share responsibilitiesExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional looking to contribute to the growth and efficiency of a dynamic business.If you have the skills and experience required, we’d love to hear from you!
