The wider older peoples psychology team has experienced significant investment, and this is an exciting time to join RDASH. We are looking for an experienced, resilient and reflective applied psychologist who can work with enthusiasm and versatility. We are especially looking for someone who has experience of working within an inpatient service and is keen to support the already successful integration of psychology within the older peoples pathway.Part of your varied role will be to assess and formulate, to offer training, to deliver interventions and support others to deliver intervention plans, and to promote and support the continued development of Clinical Psychology. This role involves working alongside the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and, where appropriate, to share supervision responsibilities for the wider older adults psychology team.Main duties of the jobMain duties of the jobTo provide psychological assessment of highly complex mental health and/or organic conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of data from a variety of sources.Accountable for own professional practice in the delivery of specialist formulations, care (individual and group) or treatment plans, to inpatient clients with complex psychological/mental health conditions/complex trauma, and/or a diagnosis of cognitive impairment.To provide clinical supervision to junior psychologists and offer training, learning opportunities, formulation sharing, consultancy and reflective practice to non-psychological colleagues across the MDT ward team.To be compassionate in meeting the needs of clients, their carers and families.(Where appropriate) to undertake formal research/service evaluations and to act as field supervisor for doctorate clinical psychology trainees.To be pro-active in continual service improvement, focusing on older adult needs and acute pathways.To promote, at all times, a positive image of people with mental health difficulties, the psychology service and wider Trust.Working for our organisationRotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) employ around 3700 talented colleagues who are very much appreciated, valued, and respected. Our goal is to employ those who share our passion for providing first class care while remaining committed to our vision and values.Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesPlease view the attached job description and person specification to view the full details about the role.Person specificationEssential knowledge, skills, experience and qualificationPost-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.Assessed experience of working as a qualified applied psychologist, with extensive experience at the Senior (minimum Band 8a) level within older peoples services, and/or neuro services, and/or inpatient services.Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees/junior psychological professionals.Post doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice, e.g., EMDR, CAT, SCM, Schema, systemic.Evidence of continuing professional development.(Clinical) leadership experience of psychological staff.Experience of working with pathway leads in continual service improvement projects.We welcome applications from individuals who may require sponsorship [if eligible] under the skilled worker or health & care visa route.
