This is a significant investment and an opportunity to enhance services for our populations in Calderdale and Huddersfield and West Yorkshire for generations to come.Job OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for a keen, highly motivated and caring individual to join our small friendly team of specialist urogynaecology nurses within gynaecology outpatients at Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust.We are looking to recruit a Band 6 nurse with experience and qualifications in this field or someone who is willing to work towards this as part of a supported training pathway. If you have a passion for women's health, have experience working within urogynaecology or gynaecology and have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, then we would like to hear from you.Main Duties of the JobThe successful candidate will work alongside a consultant lead in Urogynaecology and a dedicated team of gynaecology nurses and support workers. The team provides a specialist service for women with pelvic floor and bladder dysfunction.The post holder will be able to coordinate and deliver an expert nurse-led service including the management of prolapse, vaginal pessary, bladder retraining, catheter care, TWOC, PTNS, bladder instillations, and provide medication reviews.They will be able to work autonomously with excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.They will assist in the development of nurse-led initiatives as part of the service developments to improve patient experience.They will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and collaboratively with related specialties.Working for Our OrganisationWe employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients homes.We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; childrens and young peoples services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.Detailed Job Description and Main ResponsibilitiesPlease refer to the attached job description for full information on the job role and main responsibilities along with the person specification.Person SpecificationQualifications / TrainingFirst Level Registered General NurseFirst DegreePost Basic Qualification in an area relevant to gynaecology and/or urology, continenceRecognised Mentorship QualificationRecognised Urodynamics courseKnowledge, Experience & ExpertiseDemonstrable experience in gynaecology or associated areaKnowledge skills and competency gained through a substantive period of working at senior nurse levelEvidence of teaching experienceWillingness to undertake further personal professional development/trainingMust be highly computer literateExperience specifically in Urogynaecology NursingEvidence of taking responsibility and managing patients at different points through their journeyEvidence of developing nursing practice within a clinical outpatient settingExperience of implementing policies and proceduresEvidence of managing vaginal pessary devicesEvidence of experience in Urodynamics testingCommunication and Relationships (Including Management Responsibilities)Ability to work under pressureAbility to prioritise work and manage competing demandsHighly developed interpersonal skillsAbility to be flexible to meet the needs of the team and service and wider organisationSeeks out and takes opportunities for improving service provisionOur vision is to provide One Culture of Care for one another in order that we can provide compassionate care for the people who use our services.
