This is a hands-on, rotational role where you will work across different teams each week, gaining experience in analytical testing, food product development, and small-scale food manufacturing. The ideal candidate is flexible, detail-oriented, and eager to develop practical laboratory skills.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalytical Laboratory TeamPrepare and analyze food samples (e.g., grinding cocoa beans, moisture analysis, fat content, pH measurements, titration).Use laboratory equipment and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Maintain accurate records of lab work and ensure data integrity.Perform general housekeeping duties, including dishwashing and cleaning equipment.Food Product Development TeamAssist in the preparation of food samples by weighing ingredients and following recipes.Support the development of new food formulations and processes.Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lab environment.Small-Scale Food Manufacturing TeamAssist in manual chocolate production, following manufacturing processes and food safety protocols.Operate small-scale food production equipment (full training provided).Follow strict food safety and quality standards.Key RequirementsA-Levels in a scientific discipline (preferred: Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science).Ability to work flexibly across multiple teams and locations (Reading & Wokingham sites).Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.Comfortable with manual and physical work in a lab and manufacturing setting.Competency in basic lab techniques and equipment use.Good IT skills, including the use of LIMS or other laboratory software (training provided).What We OfferValuable hands-on lab experience in food science and product development.Rotational work structure, providing exposure to multiple teams.Full training and career development opportunities.A dynamic and collaborative work environment.This role is ideal for a science-focused individual looking to start their career in food research, analysis, and product development.
