We are actively looking to engage customs compliance professionals with a passion for shipping and European / RoW freight forwarding for a new role as a Customs Compliance Supervisor in Lichfield, West Midlands. The role will be in Lichfield on a hybrid basis of 3 days per week. Client DetailsMy client is a SME freight forwarding business, with huge ambitions for growth, in the freight & shipping industry. You will be joining a fast-pace environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on providing customs clearance for air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.Job DescriptionAs a Customs Compliance Supervisor you will report in to the Customs & Compliance Director on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Lichfield, West Midlands office:Managing a team of 10-12x customs brokerage agents.Conducting training, development and HR management of the team including RTW's, 1-2-1's, annual appraisals, monthly training and development sessions.Managing the team and assisting with inputting of road, air, sea freight clearances into CDS / CHIEF using a variety of software such as Destin8. Responsible for preparing road, air and sea freight documentation for customs entries - such as export packing lists, certificates of origin, EUR1s, ATR1s, dual use licensing, port charges, cost of special documents, etc..Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's) and arranging billings for VAT/DutiesEnsuring, booking and conducting of full end-to-end customs clearance.The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will have an expansive background in customs compliance within the freight forwarding industry. The ideal Customs Compliance Supervisor will have the following skills and experience:3+ year's experience in customs and/or customs complianceProven managerial experience within a customs / compliance environment in team leadership of ideally 5+ individuals Experience of using CDS or CHIEF software for customs entriesDesirable experience of compliance such as AEO, Letter of Credit Documentation, IPR and/or OPR.Knowledge of INCOTerms & Export Licensing is advantageousCommutable to Lichfield on a hybrid basisWhat's On Offer?40,000-50,00032 days annual leave10% - 15% company bonus / profit shareComprehensive company benefits account.World-class training & development and large opportunities to progress.
