This is an exciting opportunity to join LGPS Central as a Responsible Investment (RI) Analyst, where you'll play a key role in integrating ESG factors into investment processes.In this dynamic role, youll collaborate closely with our Investment Teams, contributing to the RI&E Framework and supporting key initiatives such as the Climate Risk Monitoring Service and the Sustainable Investment Monitoring Service for our valued Partner Funds (our clients).What youll do:Work alongside investment professionals to drive ESG integration and responsible investment strategies.Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to produce insightful ESG and climate risk reports, helping to shape investment risk management and decision-making.Engage with both internal teams and external clients, building strong relationships and enhancing our ESG expertise.Beyond your core responsibilities, youll gain exposure to all aspects of LGPS Central, including portfolio management, compliance, legal, operations, finance, and client relationsgiving you a well-rounded understanding of the industry.If youre looking for a challenging and rewarding role where you can contribute to a more sustainable future, wed love to hear from you!Outcomes:Support the delivery of sustainability, climate change and TCFD reports to partner funds, and present results as requested.Conduct due diligence on new manager appointments across equities, fixed income and private markets.Conduct monitoring of external managers RI integration and stewardship performance across equities, fixed income and private markets.Support internal investment teams with analysis of ESG risks.Support Head of Stewardship with voting and engagement.Respond to ad-hoc requests from partner fundsSupport RI&E Manager (Net Zero) with implementation of Net Zero strategy.Support LGPS Central TCFD reporting, Stewardship Code and UNPRI reporting.Support partner funds in reporting requirements.Wider Remit:360-degree learning about the workings of an asset manager, across departmentsContribution to investment team meetingsPromotion of LGPS Central within the industryAbout usLGPS Central (LGPSC) Ltd is the FCA-regulated asset manager for eight local authority pension funds across the Midlands. LGPSC is jointly owned on an equal shares basis by those Partner Fund, and it is responsible for managing almost 30bn of their assets. The Company moved to new premises at i9, Wolverhampton Interchange in January 2022, close to local transport links.RequirementsTechnical Skills/Knowledge/Experience:Demonstrable interest in ESG/ responsible investment, achieved through academic study or work experience.Awareness of the interaction between ESG (including climate change) and investment outcomes.Understanding of climate-related risks including carbon risk metrics.Strong report writing and presentation skills. Motivated by the prospect of assisting long-term investors to manage ESG and climate change risks.Ability to use initiative and take responsibility for workflow when required. A self-starter.QualificationsRelevant degree.Post Graduate qualification in a related subject an advantage.A-Level mathematics, economics, statistics, business studies an advantage.Investment Management Certificate holder preferred.Willing to study for CFA ESG Certificate.Intermediate/Advanced understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI and working knowledge of Bloomberg an advantage training will be provided.What do we offer?We are proud to provide our people with a premium and exclusive benefits package and we are continually improving the rewards we offer.
