Business Development Manager & Bid WriterLocation: Chelmsford Office (with some travel)Reports to: Business Development DirectorHours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9:00am 5:30pm)Salary: 40k-60k per annum + performance bonusFlexible Working: Up to 2 days remote (after probation)Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays + Christmas breakAbout the RoleWe are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager & Bid Writer to help grow our clients customer base and secure new opportunities. You will play a key role in winning new projects, maintaining client relationships, and driving business growth.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new clients and sectors.Attend networking events and industry forums.Develop strategies for expanding into new markets.Maintain strong relationships with existing clients.Organise follow-ups, meetings, and feedback sessions.Identify opportunities to add value to current clients.Represent Scene Architects at industry events.Bid Writing & ManagementIdentify and assess bid opportunities.Prepare compelling proposals, EOIs, and PQQs.Ensure compliance with bid requirements.Maintain a library of bid resources and case studies.Address social value requirements in bids.Oversee the entire bid process, ensuring timely submissions.Conduct post-bid reviews to improve future submissions.Collaboration & StrategyWork closely with marketing to align branding and messaging.Share market intelligence to refine business strategies.Contribute to marketing materials and presentations.Participate in strategic planning with leadership.What Were Looking ForProven experience in business development and bid writing (architecture or construction preferred).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organisational and project management abilities.Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach.Proficiency in CRM systems, bid platforms, and office tools.What We OfferCompetitive salary + performance-based bonuses.Career growth and professional development opportunities.A supportive and innovative team environment.Flexible working arrangements for better work-life balance.If youre ready to make an impact, wed love to hear from you!We value diversity and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
