Position Title: Senior Engineer - Vehicle Dynamics - CAE Senior Duration: Contract Location: Hybrid Working - 2/3 days on site in Leamington Spa SummaryTechnical Responsible for planning and developing the Virtual CAE Dynamics Performance against K&C and Vehicle targets.To Build, Tune and Correlate CAE models with Testing data. Proficiency in ADAMS Car and good MatLab knowledge required.Very good knowledge of Objective dynamics metrics and experience with Driver in the Loop simulation are required.The role may include involvement in physical testing as Collaboration with Physical Performance engineers is key for success. ResponsibilitiesFunctionally Reporting to Vehicle Dynamics Senior/Lead EngineerSupport Benchmark and Objective target definition via CAE analysisPlan, Execution and Responsibility for CAE Dynamics Performance (K&C and Full vehicle) vs Targets (mainly EV / Hybrid vehicles)Responsible for CAE design and tuning of hard point, bush, spring, damper, roll bar, wheel frequency, steering, tire modelsTo define tuning Components specifications with ChassisResponsible for CAE Vehicle Setup sheets and Tuning Ranges cascading to Chassis functionCreate and Validate Kinematic and MBD simulation tools to increase efficiency (e.g. virtual rig test procedures, post processing script etc)Collaboration with Chassis team is keyKeep up to date with latest technologies in the industryRun Suppliers Technical meeting (e.g. tire models, DiL, software)Reporting and High-level message Clear communication are essential Core RequirementsHigh Theoretical vehicle dynamics knowledgeHigh understanding of K&C axle data, Vehicle Dynamics Metrics, Targets and TestingHigh knowledge of vehicle Tuning techniquesExpert in ADAMS Car (Adams View is a plus) & Good in MatLabExpert in K&C axle Full Vehicle Results Interpretation Desirable skills and AttributesMethodical approach (e.g. 6sigma DMAIC) to problem solvingStructured Reporting skills: Assumption/Target/Action/Conclusion/RecommendationExperience in Subjective/Objective feeling/data interpretation in reference to Customer perception
