Drawing on a strong operational heritage and hands-on-approach, our professionals work closely with organizations and stakeholders to help tackle complex business issues and maximize value.About the roleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contingent Workforce Manager to oversee and optimize the management of our contingent workforce across the EMEA region. This role will be pivotal in providing expertise surrounding contingent workers, ensuring compliance with labour laws and IR35 regulations, and fostering seamless collaboration between internal teams and external vendors. You will play a critical (and often leading) role in negotiating contractual agreements, ensuring smooth onboarding processes and providing effective oversight of compliance and contractual matters. A sound understanding of contracting versus employment setups is essential.This role offers excellent progression opportunities for the right candidate.Key ResponsibilitiesContract NegotiationTaking a leading role in the negotiation of contracts and agreements with contingent workers at all levels, including up to C suite. Draft, revise, and ensure compliance with company protocol and other contractual obligations.Liaise with the in-house legal team when further expertise is required.Provide sound advice to the business with respect to the differing circumstances surrounding contracting versus employment and the implications associated with contracting.Onboarding and Offboarding OversightIn conjunction with other team members, oversee onboarding processes for contingent workers, ensuring a positive and efficient experience, providing recommendations for improvement.Support with monitoring contract end dates and managing escalations where a contract expiry date has passed and requires urgent attention.Oversee offboarding processes in conjunction with other internal teams, to ensure proper handover, equipment return, and data securityCompliance and Risk ManagementWork with stakeholders across the business to ensure adherence to local labour laws, tax regulations, and company policies for contingent workers.Regularly audit contingent worker contracts, ensuring compliance with both company and statutory obligations.Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes (including IR35) affecting the contingent workforce in the UK and globally.Work closely with the in-house Off Payroll team on IR35 determination processes for all contractors, to ensure compliance with UK legislation.Supplier ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with staffing agencies.Negotiate vendor agreements and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality and cost efficiency.Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or discrepancies.Cross-Functional CollaborationAct as the primary point of contact between contingent workers, internal teams, and external vendors.Partner with HR, Legal, IT, Tax and Finance to address contingent workforce needs and resolve challenges.Promote alignment between contingent workforce practices and overall talent strategy.Reporting and AnalyticsSupport the team in tracking and analysing contingent workforce metrics, including cost, performance and company adoption.Generate and present reports to senior management, highlighting trends and opportunities for optimisation.Leverage data to inform decision-making and improve workforce strategiesKey Skills and QualificationsProven experience in contingent workforce management or vendor management.Knowledge of relevant laws with respect to contract labour, IR35, and related compliance requirements.Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
