Job Description

Role: Workshop Facility & Stores SupervisorLocation: NuneatonSalary: 60,000 approxAbility to pass a BPSS background check (required for government contractors in the UK).Overview:Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the UK workshop facility, test site, and stores operations. This includes managing QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment), stock inventory, and distribution while ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.Ensure all facility equipment, tools, and machinery are in proper working order.Oversee calibration of equipment, lifting gear, and COSHH storage & records.Address and resolve maintenance or equipment issues as they arise.Plan and coordinate equipment installations, maintenance, and refurbishments.Conduct weekly housekeeping inspections, including security checks, and implement corrective measures.Inventory Management & LogisticsInventory:Oversee goods received, ensuring accurate tracking and part releases.Maintain stock levels, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval.Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile with data systems.Manage consumable stock levels in coordination with Procurement.Logistics:Support kitting of subsystem parts.Assist with packaging, labeling, and shipment of parts/spares.Oversee disposal of scrap materials.Coordinate delivery and collection of locally sourced and manufactured parts.Risk Assessment:Identify potential hazards within the workshop environment.Develop and implement risk control measures.Regularly review and update risk assessments.Safety Procedures & Training:Implement safe working procedures for all workshop activities.Provide training on safety protocols, hazard identification, and emergency procedures.Ensure all employees are competent in their roles and understand associated risks.Compliance & Audits:Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.Stay up to date with legislation changes.Maintain records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.Conduct inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement.Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.Promoting a Safety Culture:Foster a positive safety culture, encouraging hazard and near-miss reporting.Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters, providing guidance as needed.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential Qualifications:Associate degree or certification in mechanical, electrical, robotics, or a related technical field.Essential Experience:3+ years experience managing a prototype vehicle assembly workshop.Strong understanding of workshop processes, equipment, and safety standards.Hands-on experience troubleshooting facility and equipment issues.Knowledge of stock management, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping.Familiarity with manual handling techniques and inventory tracking systems.Proven ability to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.Preferred Experience:Experience with industry-specific machinery, production processes, and quality standards.Ideal Candidate ProfileCurrently managing a workshop facility or overseeing warehouse operations.Additional Requirements:UK driving license.Ability to pass a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) background check (required for government contractors).How to apply?Please send me a CV to danielle.chapman@experis.co.uk
