We are an FCA regulated business.About the Role:The Corporate Payments Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving business development within the SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) market. This role is focused on building and nurturing a new pipeline of clients with international payment needs, while also providing expert guidance on payment solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in sales and business development, alongside deep technical expertise in international payment rails, mass payments, and API integrations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Payments, this role offers an opportunity to significantly contribute to the growth of the payments business within the SME sector.Key Responsibilities:Business Development & Pipeline Growth: Proactively identify and engage new SME clients in need of international payment solutions. Build and nurture a robust sales pipeline by prospecting, networking, and leveraging industry contacts. Develop and execute strategies to acquire new clients, while focusing on driving long-term relationships.Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, consultative relationships with existing and prospective SME clients. Act as a trusted advisor on international payment solutions and mass payment processing, ensuring clients receive tailored and effective service.Solution Design & Implementation: Collaborate with clients to understand their international payment requirements and create bespoke solutions that address their business needs. Provide ongoing support in the integration and implementation of these solutions.API Integration Support: Provide technical guidance and support to clients on API integrations, helping them optimise their payment processes and automate international payments seamlessly.Product & Service Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on international payment rails (e.g., SWIFT, SEPA, ACH) and mass payment solutions. Advise clients on how to utilise the best payment systems for their specific needs.Process Optimisation: Continuously assess and improve client payment processes, proposing solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline cross-border payments.Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure that all payment solutions adhere to regulatory standards, including anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry changes.Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular updates and detailed reporting to the Managing Director of Payments regarding sales pipeline, client acquisitions, and payment volumes. Ensure clear documentation of client interactions and business development activities.Market Insights: Stay informed about the latest trends in the payments industry, particularly in international payments, emerging technologies, and market opportunities. Share insights with clients and the internal team to keep the business at the forefront of the industry.Who are we looking for?A minimum of 5 years of experience in the corporate payments industry, with a proven track record in business development and sales within the SME market.Solid experience in international payments, mass payment solutions, and API integration, coupled with a passion for driving new business.Strong understanding of international payment systems and networks (e.g., SWIFT, SEPA, ACH).In-depth knowledge of modern API integration technologies and their application to payment solutions.Ability to identify and capture new business opportunities, with a focus on building and managing a sales pipeline.Proven experience in negotiating and closing deals with SMEs, from initial contact through to contract signing.What else you need to know:We want our people to thrive at work and we recognise that many people benefit from flexible arrangements.
