VAC 541 Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager (SHEQ Manager) Waste/ Recycling Industry.Salary 45,000- 55,000 basicBased Manchester area with travel to other local Depots.Company Established for over 20 years, my client is a well-established waste management and recycling company based in Manchester, offering commercial waste collection and waste disposal recycling throughout Lancashire, Manchester, Merseyside and East Cheshire. Boasting over a million collections throughout the NW, along with a recently upgraded modern MRF facility, a fleet of 30+ trucks and currently employs over 100 people.Role:Establish, maintain and enforce systems that deliver safety, environment and quality standards.Promote a strong safety culture enforcing policies and acting as required.This is a full time, on-site role for a SHEQ Manager based in the outskirts of Manchester.You need to be a hands-on leader who is comfortable working both in the office and on site with travel to other local DepotsResponsibilitiesManage the ISO accreditations for the CompanyEnsure the Management Systems database is maintained.Create Monthly Management Reports and Quarterly Board Reports.Ensure full SHEQ compliance through audits and regular inspections.Lead the Annual Management Review meetings.Completing Action Plans to improve safety across the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) and Transport Operations (excluding Fleet).Manage supply chain documentation and compliance vetting.Act as Construction (Design and Management - CDM) point of contact for Construction and Maintenance activities.Ensure that staff training, compliance and certification requirements are in place and up to date.Overall responsibility for all staff PPE requirementsAttend customer sites as required to ensure compliance with safety standards.Monitor Environmental Performance (especially noise, dust, and water courses).Ensure Waste Carriers and Destination Sites are properly permitted and that permits are held on fileManage and maintain SHEQ accreditations (including, but not limited to, Safe Contractors, ConstructionLine and PAS402)Organise and deliver routine toolbox talks.Support the Finance Director to build a positive case for insurance renewals with the aim of demonstrating reduced risk year on year. Ensure insurance certificates are recorded with a timely reminder prior to renewal.Ensure Fire Risk Assessments, LOLERS (not trucks), PSSR Inspections, PAT Testing, and Boiler Inspections are carried out across the sites.EXPERIENCEEssential5 years experience in a front line HSE roleExperience in developing and implementing safety and quality programs.Experience in conducting risk assessments and managing incident investigations.Experience in waste, manufacturing, or logistics contextProduction of Management and Board ReportsQUALIFICATIONSEssentialTECH IOSH or higherNEBOSH CertificateKnowledge of ISO standardsDesirableWaste industry legislationWamitabKNOWLEDGE EssentialWaste Industry knowledge and / or Logistics and fleet experience.H&S LegislationStrong knowledge of safety, health environment and quality management systemsAdditional Package Details:20 days holiday plus all Bank Holiday.
