Job Description

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Optical Systems Engineer to join UK Space Operations and Satellite Systems team who provide support to their European customers with the development of advanced space sensors as well as space-based communication technology. Key Responsibilities: Liaising customers and subcontractors to determine needs Capturing, deriving, managing and developing innovative solutions Producing system budgets (power budget, mass budget, etc.) Analysingperformance & justifying design choices Providing oversight and supervision to different engineering disciplines during design, integration and test Planning test campaigns Troubleshooting hardware and software for space missions What Were Looking For: Commercial experience in design, manufacture and test of complex technological systems Commercial xperience with optics, optical sensors, and opto-mechanical assemblies Familiarity with formal configuration control methods Knowledge of qualification and acceptance environmental testing Experience with test specification, plan, and procedure development Familiar with ECSS standards Experience working with systems designed for space environments Experience with Python, Visual Basic, MATLAB/C or C++ Hands on experience of Manufacturing, Assembly and Testing Eligible for security clearance What We Offer: We also have a Hybrid work model in place, for a better work/life balance.
