The Health Visitor will support the development of the service and work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of a safe and effective HCP.To manage a caseload of families, being the named health professional responsible for the planning and delivery of the HCP.To identify needs within families or communities using child and family-centred public health approaches to address health inequalities.To line manage junior members of staff, ensuring completion of annual appraisals and personal development.To support students and new starters and assist in the retention and recruitment of staff.To deliver needs-led evidence-based care that supports local and national priorities and policies.To be the principal point of contact for allocated GP Practices and Childrens Centres.To work with local providers and users to develop and promote accessible and responsive practice.Person specificationEducation / QualificationsHealth Visiting professional qualification, registered on the 3rd part of the NMC Register.Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.Educated to degree level or equivalent.Skills & AbilitiesAbility to work as part of a team.Willingness to develop and support management of change.Excellent communication skills: IT, written, and oral.Ability to delegate work appropriately and safely.Ability to set personal objectives and manage time, priorities, and stressful situations.Collect and monitor data as required.Knowledge & ExperienceKnowledge of the Healthy Child Programme and the ability to identify, respond to, and evaluate family health needs.Understanding of safeguarding processes and child protection procedures.Knowledge of infection control standards.Commitment to developing excellent services focused on improved outcomes for children.Management experience in a health service setting.Personal QualitiesAbility to build professional and personal credibility.Ability to recognize own need for support and supervision.Able to exercise initiative.Self-motivated.Work flexibly to address the needs of the service.SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND ADULTSTo comply with the Trusts Safeguarding Children and Adults policies.
