Are you an experienced electrical power systems engineer, looking for an opportunity to step up into the position of a lead engineer? If the answer to those questions is yes, then please read on!I am currently recruiting for two Lead Power Systems Engineers to work on behalf of a long standing client of ours, a world leader in Defence.Key responsibilities:Design of AC & DC power generation and distribution systems including sizing, protection, control, and the specification of power supplies and converters. This covers design and/or specification of an electrical supply system from 440V AC to circuit board voltage railsMotor drives, control, and positioning systemsEMC management and verificationSpecification of bespoke procured hardware and management of associated sub-contractor development programmesDesign verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, and test techniques including support to EMC test houses and customer installationsGenerate design documentation and technical reportsInterface with related disciplinesAdherence to Engineering Lifecycle and contributing to progress, peer, and design reviewsProvide Electrical Engineering expertise to the wider project teamExperience:Specification or design of electrical power systems including AC to DC conversion, distribution, regulation and conditioning including linear and switch-mode supplies. Design proving, integration, and defect resolutionFamiliarity with Electrical Safety Standards, and ideally EMC qualificationRigorous approach to the safety aspects associated with high power/high voltage equipmentFamiliarity with relevant modelling tools such as Matlab/Simulink beneficial, as would some awareness of SysMLDegree qualified in Electrical/Electronic EngineeringIf you fit a good portion of the description above, please apply today!
