Job Summary: The Lift & Escalator Manager is responsible for the overall Management, planning, co-ordination and control of the Lifts & Escalators, including any integration and scenario testing. ensuring co-ordination of the installation with all necessary MDJV package managers and subcontractors. The Lift & Escalator Manager supports the MDJV leadership team including providing support the HS2 package managers. To create and develop the culture and behaviours to meet the HS2 Construction Partner Objectives in collaboration with all parties. The Lift & Escalator Manager shall be responsible for the assurance of the lift and escalator installation ensuring that the products meet all the requirements of the HS2 performance specifications. The Lift & Escalator Manager is responsible for the effective leadership of the Lift and Escalator contractor maintaining an uncompromising commitment to safety and a collaborative approach to meet the design and construction programme; achieve exemplary quality and sustainability standards; ensuring the correct resourcing. The Lift & Escalator Manager will attend as necessary factory witnessing inspections for both lifts & Escalators. The Lift & Escalator Manager shall manage the CDRL to ensure that at all stages the hold/witness points are carried out and the following are in attendance TKE, MDJV, AWJV, HS2 this is to ensure compliance to the performance specifications and standards provided by HS2. Key Responsibilities: Provide project management for the delivery of the Lift and Escalator package. Supervise and coordinate the installation. Responsible for providing reports outlining the progress of the works, actual cost, forecast and highlighting any problems and issues for resolution. Be a key person with regards to resolving issues around the Lift & Escalator Delivery, Installation, Testing & Commissioning, handover. Manage the testing, commissioning and assurance of the lift and Escalators. Attend progress meetings with Client. Ensure compliance with Project Health, safety & wellbeing requirements, industry standards and specific rail standards and operational requirements. Provide technical support for the project on all Lift and Escalator items. Remain updated with the latest industry standards, technology and regulatory changes. Responsible for the co-ordination between the construction, design, procurement and commercial departments to ensure the lift and Escalator contractor follows all project requirement during the installation, testing and Commissioning and hand over including bringing in to service/use. Lease as required with the designer and HS2 in relation to design development and constructability of design. Specific Safety Responsibilities: Comply with the requirements of Mace Dragados HS&W Management Plan and co-operate with the efforts to prevent accidents and ill health. Ensure that the information required to collate CDM Health and Safety file is included in the CDM register. Carry out investigations with appropriate personnel into accidents or incidents that occur on site and report findings and recommendations to the MEP Lead. Technical Skills and Competencies: Have excellent communication skills (including presentation skills) in English, both written and verbal, management and organisational skills. Ability to plan ahead, manage the work time frames and report to Project level. A good working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations and other relevant legislation. Excellent organisation and people management/ team building skills. Have a working understanding of NEC form of contract. Qualifications, Certifications and Experience: Be educated to degree or higher level or equivalent in a numerate discipline, typically a Mechanical Engineering discipline. A lower educational level, typically HNC or HND may be acceptable where a very significant level of experience can be demonstrated. Experience as a Lift and Escalator Manager on a significant rail construction projects. Apprenticeship or time served training for a Lift and Escalator manufacturer/supplier. Excellent, leadership, problem solving skills. Proven track record of delivering projects to time and budget, together with an exemplary safety, quality and sustainability record. Previous proven experience of operating for major infrastructure clients typically, TfL and other UK or International organisations. Demonstrate excellent presentation, computer skills, negotiation skills, organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time. Strong Knowledge of Lift and Escalator systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations, specifically in railway infrastructure. SMSTS qualification. CSCS Card.
