Job Description

This is a busy fellowship with plenty of opportunity to attend theatre (up to 4 days a week). Two fellows are present in the unit at any one time, working alongside the following consultants: Mr W Poole, Mr S Bick, Mr P McKeag, Mr N Sullivan.All candidates should make sure to read the following job description and information carefully before applying.The post is only suitable for trainees who have completed their higher surgical training, post CCT or internationally equivalent. Please only apply if you have performed more than 75 hip replacements. The post provides excellent exposure to all aspects of hip arthroplasty and hip arthroscopy. The fellow will be involved in primary hip and revision hip surgery with a large volume of infection work - as the regional infection unit is based at North Bristol NHS Trust. There is some exposure to primary and revision knee arthroplasty, but the focus of the fellowship is hip arthroplasty.Candidates must have, or be eligible for, GMC registration that allows them to work in posts that are not recognised for training. This post is not yet recognised for training and does not yet have postgraduate deanery approval. However, the job is educationally sound. It is desirable that candidates have experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent.Please note, North Bristol NHS Trust does not pay any interview/relocation expenses in connection with this post.Must have FULL registration with the General Medical Council.Particular experience required for appointment.Recent experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent).A Minimum of 75 hip replacements as first operator.The passing of a medical examination is a condition of appointment of all practitioners within the scope of the National Health Service Superannuation Scheme.#J-18808-Ljbffr
