Insight Consultant (Quant/Qual)Department: Client TeamsEmployment Type: Permanent - Full TimeLocation: ManchesterThe following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.DescriptionAs a Senior Insight Consultant, you are determined to activate change for great brands through a passion for data and consumer insights.You've demonstrated your technical skills, and you are to be trusted to work independently on the design & analysis phase of smaller projects or parts of larger projects.You are developing and growing your project management skills and you're an excellent communicator who gets projects efficiently through all stages and effectively work in a collaborative space.ResponsibilitiesProject Management (primary focus in this role)Independently set-up and organize the delivery of projects.Manage multiple smaller tactical projects, whilst supporting on larger strategic projects.You are expected to be a role model in collaborating with others throughout the project.When getting support from senior consultants (e.g. for more complex projects), you can suggest solutions.You are actively involved in external project management (e.g. giving regular update to clients on progress).Activity DesignYou input into the brainstorming of hypotheses, discussing the best approach and ideas for capturing the data needed.You can translate the agreed approach, designing simple activity guides that need minimal reworking by more senior consultants.FieldworkAble to handle quantitative and qualitative tasks (i.e. moderation, reporting, etc).You are capable of going beyond taking what people say at face value, laddering to understand the unspoken and emotion, that sit deeper.Effective decision making skillsAnalysis and Reporting (primary focus in this role)You co-design final reports, with guidance from more seniors consultant, which includes the ability to find a basic narrative to structure the report around.You co-design an analysis plan, with guidance from a more senior consultant, which you can also use to brief others.You can incorporate insights coming from other sources (e.g. desk research) with primary research, to understand the bigger picture.PresentingCo-lead client presentations.Build client relationshipsAccount ManagementYou are the main point of contact for clients on projects, with adequate support from senior consultants.You can see how the projects you are working on, contribute to the wider objectives of the client.Commercial ManagementProactively research and understand your clients' businessYou are becoming aware of project financials (e.g. margins.), so you ensure the budget is kept to by managing the time you spend on projects.You attend sales dates in a supportive role, and you gain confidence about being able to tell the bigger picture yourself.QualificationsWe are looking for an experienced colleague, with a first experience in online market research and a solid marketing interest.
