Laser Operator Sector : Manufacturing / Engineering Location : Norfolk Type : Full-time, Permanent Working Hours : Monday to Friday, Days only. Salary : Dependent on experience + overtime rate Are you an experienced CNC or laser operator looking to join a growing business with modern machinery and room to progress? Whether you've worked with CO2 lasers before or come from a CNC background and are keen to learn something new, this could be a great opportunity. ISQ Recruitment is partnering with a well-established engineering company based in Norfolk, specialising in bespoke machinery and equipment. As part of their continued growth, they're looking to bring a Laser Operator into the team. About the Role You'll be operating a CO2 laser cutting machine, preparing and checking parts, and helping keep the laser area running smoothly. The department is still developingso while the focus will initially be on operation and inspection, there's scope to move into programming and other fabrication tasks as things progress. Key Responsibilities Set up and run the laser cutting machine Load and unload sheet materials Deburr and check all parts for quality and dimensional accuracy Work from engineering drawings to ensure precision Monitor stock levels and flag when materials need reordering Organise and label parts for further processing Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area What We're Looking For Essential: Previous experience with laser or CNC machinery Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings High level of accuracy and attention to detail Comfortable working independently and within a team Full UK driving licence Desirable: Experience operating CO2 laser machines (especially Bystronic) Familiarity with stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium Time served in an engineering or manufacturing environment Interest or experience in CNC programming or fabrication This is a hands-on, varied role with long-term potential.
