Job Description

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Project Manager to lead and oversee civil engineering aspects of BESS and solar projects along with their associated grid connections for sites in Newcastle & Essex. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring the integration of civil works with electrical installations, liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. What will you be doing?Lead on the delivery of civil elements of BESS and solar projects. Ensuring schemes are delivered on time and within budget constraints.Serve as the primary contact for clients on civil related matters, addressing concerns, providing updates, and maintaining strong client relationships.Management of site teams, civil contractors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient coordination between the civil and electrical works, while meeting project objectives.Collaborate with electrical engineers and design teams to integrate civil designs with electrical requirements. Oversee the development and implementation of civil construction plans, ensuring they meet safety standards and regulatory guidelines.Integration of civil works with electrical installations, including excavation, ducting, and other site preparations required for electrical infrastructure (e.g., substation buildings, transformers, cabling).Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to limit company exposure.Monitor project costs, materials, and resources, making recommendations for cost-effective alternatives and ensuring the efficient use of resources.Oversee the quality control process for all civil engineering works, maintaining a comprehensive record of quality control documentation.Report to senior management and stakeholders on project KPIs and potential risks. Ensure comprehensive and accurate project documentation is maintained.Work closely with internal teams (design, procurement, commercial and SHEQ) to ensure seamless project execution, including managing interfaces between civil works and electrical systems.What are we looking for?Bachelors degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent experienceExperience managing civil engineering projects within the electrical utility sector, in ICP roles.Strong understanding of electrical connection processes, including knowledge of cable installation, ducting, substations, and the coordination between civil and electrical works.Experience in managing utility scale infrastructure projects.Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high standards.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.Proficiency in project management software (e.g. Smartsheets, MS Projects) and Microsoft Office Suite.Valid drivers license with a willingness to travel to site locations Why join us?At Ethical Power we are more than just a team, youll find a culture that values collaboration, celebrates diverse perspectives and supports growth every step of the way.
