This may be for youThe OpportunityDue to increased expansion, our client is looking to bring in a Lead Mechanical Engineer on a long term contract to support a large defence project (hybrid) in Glasgow, Scotland.Contract - This role has been deemed inside IR35Up to 3 yearsGlasgow Hybrid Your duties and responsibilities will beAttendance at design review and project meetings.Attendance at Hazard Identification Workshops, optioneering reviews and other stakeholder meetings.Originating and reviewing of engineering documentation.Stakeholder Management.Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned project.Manage ACA engineering support to the project.Support project optioneering process.Review and accept project drawings and documentation.Manage detailed design activities in accordance with HMNB (Clyde) standards.Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/riskassessments.Provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance withdesign intent.Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning.Liaise and consult with stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effectiveproject delivery.Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work.instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety,Environment and Quality on Site.The post holder will be expected to support delivery within their range of skills, knowledge,experience and competence.Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism.You will have the following qualifications & experienceExperience of developing design assurance for complex projects.Experience in mechanical services for complex projects.Experience in stakeholder engagement throughout the engineering lifecycle.Its great if you also have the followingExperience in a defence sector.Experience in marine and mechanical sectors.Experience of design delivery within defence projects.Experience in engineering lifecycle management.The setting for the roleRisks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels.
