Managing DirectorReports to: Praxis Board of DirectorsAbout TASK:Task is a Fitout and Construction company moving out of start-up phase and preparing for growth. Task operates within the Praxis Group, an established, privately-owned investor and manager of UK real estate with a peerless track record of exceptional investment performance. We have very clear aspirations to become one of the UKs leading design and fit-out firms.About you:Operating from our London Office, your remit will be to control and oversee all business operations, people and future growth. You will be the prominent figure within the organisation and will be responsible for the ongoing success of the business.You must have senior management experience in a dynamic setting; this role requires best-in-class communication and leadership skills as well as an ability to develop innovative solutions that push boundaries. The Managing Director will work closely with the Praxis Group COO to strategize and develop robust long-term plans that usher in new levels of success for the company.We are looking for someone who has experience in directing project managers, designers and finance teams, who are all working towards the same goal. The remit of Task Fitout will include Cat A and B office fit-out schemes and, as such, you must be comfortable in this environment. Our projects are located across the UK and so you will be required to travel frequently. This is a great opportunity to join a growing business with a very healthy pipeline of work, and to shape it into a successful, industry-leading design and fit-out firm.Objectives:This is an all-encompassing role, responsible for the continued success of Task Fitout. An effective measure of this will incorporate each of:Creation of the foundation on which growth can be established this includes responsibility for key hires and implementation of required frameworks throughout all areas of the businessIncreased external reach and positioning develop and showcase the offering of Task Fitout exhausting all viable avenues for expansion with a concerted focus on creating a reputation for best-in-class service and delivery, enabling enhanced business developmentTechnical capabilities to drill down into the intricate details of all offerings, ensuring range of delivery and value-add remain as core focuses throughout the business, whilst providing hands-on, technical expertise to all stakeholdersMain Duties:Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility and drive ownership of responsibilitiesDevelop relationships with suppliers, contractors and existing/potential customers in order to maximise opportunities for growth and business developmentDesign, plan and monitor key metrics within the operations to allow for rapid, controlled growthEnsure all contractual obligations are fulfilled and the operational workflow managed appropriatelyTake responsibility for the recruitment of essential hires across the Company, allowing for a diverse range of ideas and skillsetsWork closely with the Financial Controller to ensure profitability by controlling the budget, and P&L, and maintaining transparency with the Praxis Group COOFull commercial and operational responsibility for the performance of all the contractsReport regularly to the Praxis Group Board on the performance of all aspects of the businessProvision of best-in-class service to all internal and external stakeholders, leading the standards in design, execution and Health & SafetyMonitor all Company policies and procedures, and ownership of subsequent required actions for non-adherenceRequirements, skills and qualifications:Extensive experience in leading a design and fit-out company (or a division within a larger company)Highly entrepreneurial and commercial in approachDemonstrable experience of building strong and enduring client relationshipsDeep understanding of JCT contract administrationStrong initiative and an ability to navigate ambiguityAbility to instigate and oversee the design and implement best-in-class systems and processesStrong leadership and people management capabilityTech-savvy and innovativePositive attitude, resilience and reliabilityAble to work autonomously, whilst building effective relationships with key stakeholders and departmentsLocation: 180 Brompton Road, London, SW3 1HQ (On-site 4 days per week)Benefits: Competitive Salary + Discretionary Bonus25 days holiday per year plus bank holidaysPMI and Healthcare Cash Plan5% Company Pension Contribution3x Life AssuranceThis is an incredible opportunity to join a high-growth business and play a pivotal role in shaping its future success.
