Opportunity overview This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Salfords Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre (LTEC). As an experienced and dynamic professional with a demonstratable track record in educational/ academic development in higher education, you will play a significant role working as LTEC business partner supporting our Academic Schools in delivering bespoke academic practice, learning design interventions and evaluation. In partnership with School Leadership, LTEC facilitates the enhancement of academic practice across the University, inspiring excellence in teaching, learning and assessment. The Academic Developer requires the ability to support and empower individuals and academic teaching teams through staff development events, bespoke teaching team workshops and accredited programmes of study. Key responsibilities Identify, and drive strategic, high impact academic development initiatives across the University focusing on the development of learning design, teaching assessment and feedback, graduate outcomes, and student engagement, belonging and retention. Contribute to the intentionally inclusive design, management, and facilitation of workshops, evidencing the impact of development and pedagogical-based interventions (including the production of advice and guidance documents and methodologies in response to local and institutional needs). Build close professional relationships and sustainable networks with leaders, managers and key stakeholders to identify and disseminate examples of good practice from across the University. Lead, teach, assess, review and enhance the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice. Drive development, including CPD frameworks in academic practice, aligned with the PSF, in support of future Advance HE institutional accreditation, fostering an environment which supports improvements in academic performance to the benefit of the University, its students and staff. Lead credible and professional relationships across the academic and professional services communities Liaise with and influence School leaders and key stakeholders to shape bespoke solutions addressing school needs and aligned to the University academic development agenda. A bit about our School or department The Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre is led by the Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor for Learning and Teaching Enhancement and supported by a nucleus of people with a proven track record of delivering excellence in the academic practice. LTEC provides a focal point to disseminate and embed best practice, engaging with staff across all areas of the university. We support staff to support the students academic journey, working with and within Academic Schools to embed changes and to enhance practice. LTEC is an enabler to transform academic practice, bringing Salford to the forefront as a sector leader in innovative, digitally enabled and societally focused pedagogic practice and scholarship of education.
