Senior Quantity Surveyor TauntonWe are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor; you will join an experienced Commercial team and ensure the smooth commercial running of a large construction scheme. Time will be split between site and the regional office, suitable candidates will live in or around the Taunton region.My client is looking for someone with a strong construction background, ideally someone that has worked for a Tier 1 contractor recently, experience working on large projects in excess of 40m would be preferred. The role:Vet, appoint and negotiate subcontract packages for projectsPre-contract pricing and agreement project costs, submission of cash flow forecastsPrepare and agree CVRS / interim valuations and agree final accountsManaging financial accounts and report to Senior Management on the project performanceMonitor progress, secure payments, if necessary, issues formal notices / contractual claimsAttend project support meetingsRequirements:Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying, although other equivalent qualifications may be accepted such as HNC/HND if backed up with extensive work experience.Good knowledge of measurement and valuations and standard forms of contract.Ability to negotiate with clients/sub-contractors Experience of value engineeringExposure to resolving disputesGood negotiation skills and commercial awareness.Package:65,000-70,000 depending on experience and qualificationsCar Allowance of 6,00026 days annual leave and bank holidaysPension, employer to contribute up to 8% Private medical insurance Next stepsFor an informal discussion please call Abbie or Cat on 01752 421888 or apply as instructed.Sphere Solutions are one of the Southwest & Wales market leaders in providing recruitment services to the built environment.
