Our client is recruiting for a Senior Authorised Person to work on their UK Power Networks contract in South East EnglandAs a Senior Authorised Person you will be part of our substation build team working UKPN's 11kV, 33kV & 132kV Distribution Network. Your role will be to plan and undertake system outages as per an agreed switching schedule and put people to work safely on the systemOur client is proud to be a key partner on the UKPN ED1SON Alliance Contract, delivering substation build and refurbishment works across the East of England including design, project management, on site cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear installation, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition.As the Senior Authorised Person your responsibilities will include:Provide technical support for the project teamsHave an in depth knowledge of the client Distribution Safety RulesDevelopment and implementation of Safety documentation including liaison with outage planningPreparation of switching schedules via the PowerOn software application.Isolate and Earth High Voltage apparatus and put people to work via a Permit to WorkIssue Sanction for Test and undertake required testingIssue Limitation of Access documents where requiredMonitor the progress of sites under his operational charge to ensure full compliance with the current UKPN Distribution Safety RulesWhere required attend Client progress meetings, pre-start meetings and client audits.Identify and resolve operational issues raised on siteProvide technical and operational support for projects at a concept stage to ensure robust, cost effective build solutions.Support and mentor other members of the team to enhance their technical knowledgeAssist/Review in the creation of project outage programmesEnsure full compliance on projects with all Morrison procedures and current legislationEncourage and integrate innovation and cost-effective working methods across the contract Skills & Knowledge RequirementsA proven track record of working on and around the High Voltage distribution network Sound understanding of engineering policy, procedure and legislation in addition to sound decision making skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Able to identify and develop processes within operations to improve out puts and measure success.The ability to communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders.Competent 11kV, 33kV or 132kV SAP on an established DNO Distribution NetworkAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingKnowledge of current legislation relating to Health, Safety and Environment.Ability to work within budget and within programmed timescales.Ability to work within a team environment including clients, designers and project staffAdditional InformationQualified to HNC / Degree Level in Electrical Engineering or equivalentCandidates with other recognised qualifications will be considered if they can demonstrate they have worked in a similar environmentFull Diving license
