Our client is a leading provider of high-quality lighting, audio, video, and scenic solutions in the live events industry. They delivering bespoke production solutions for a wide range of events. We are expanding our team and are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Lighting Technician to help deliver exceptional technical solutions.Position Overview:As a Lighting Technician, you will be a crucial part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering an exciting range of projects across various sectors. The role will involve working on different live events where no day is the same, allowing you to gain experience across a variety of exciting and high-profile projects.Key Responsibilities:Technical Execution: Represent the company on-site and deliver high-quality lighting solutions by installing, maintaining, programming, and operating bespoke lighting systems. Troubleshoot and resolve any faults as they arise.Client Interaction: Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring that all client expectations are met. Communicate effectively with clients and venues to ensure smooth project execution.Team Collaboration: Work alongside other engineers, sub-contractors, and the Operations Team to ensure that the project is delivered on time and to the highest standards. Supervise sub-contracted staff to maintain company standards.Problem-Solving: Adopt a creative approach to problem-solving, making quick decisions to adapt to any changes or unforeseen circumstances on-site.Pre-Production Support: Assist with the planning and preparation of production materials, including technical plans, paperwork, and project briefs.Training & Development: Share your expertise with other team members to support their growth and development. Seek out opportunities for personal growth and technical skill advancement.Health & Safety: Ensure best practices in health and safety are adhered to on-site, maintaining a safe and secure working environment for everyone.Equipment Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and preparing equipment, both in the warehouse and on-site, ensuring everything is in working order.Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends and new technologies in lighting, audio, video, and staging. Be proactive in learning and improving both your technical and interpersonal skills.Qualifications & Experience:Lighting Expertise: Strong background in performance lighting design, implementation, and operation, with particular experience in live music and events.Console Proficiency: Proficient in at least one of the following lighting console platforms: GrandMA, Avolites, or Chamsys.General Production Knowledge: A solid understanding of rigging, power distribution, data distribution, and electrical theory. Basic fault-finding skills are essential.Additional Disciplines: Experience in other production areas, such as audio or video, is a plus.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills, especially in client-facing situations.
