The project comprises of board rooms, meeting rooms, library, gymnasium, spa area, dining areas and food outlets. Job PurposeThe on-site supervision of specialist contractors and workers on construction projects.Main Duties Supervision of specialist contractors The control of health and safety standards on construction projects Recording, control and reporting of progress on a construction project The minimisation of the environmental impact of construction projects Control of quality of works on a construction project Assisting commercial staff with the monitoring of costs on a construction projectEssential Qualifications CSCS Test Black CSCS Card / JIB / Skills NVQ 4 (or equivalent relevant) SMSTS (5 day)Experience Demonstrate ability to understand and manage a variety of construction related technical disciplines. 4+ years of proven hands on supervision experience within the construction sector. Knowledge Understand risk assessment of activities and the importance ofbehaviours in safety-critical environments Understand the sustainability issues in projects across economic, social and environmental aspects Understand different construction methods and materials Understand management principles and the project management lifecycle Understand the importance of project planning and resourcing and be able to analyse different techniques Able to define the quality required on a finished construction project Understand the importance of cost control on a construction ProjectSkills Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction Projects Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction Workers Understand overall plan for project and measure and recordprogress against plan Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget Be able to contribute to meetings Present information effectively both oral and written Ability to identify improvements and innovative ideas.
