Our team is passionate about making a real difference in people's lives, and we're committed to building a collaborative, fast-paced, and fun work environment.Role SummaryThe Scientist will lead a core the in vitro research activities of the drug development team, leveraging technical expertise in assay development and optimization to support the discovery and characterisation of novel drug candidates.The Impact you will have at MetseraUnder the guidance of the Vice President of R&D, the applicant's main role will include:Developing an in vitro strategy to support the R&D activities of MetseraLead inhouse experimental design and executionLead outsourcing of in vitro experimentsOptimising and executing cell-based screening assays to monitor receptor-ligand and protein-protein interactionsTraining and managing other laboratory membersPerforming ELISAs or other biological assays to support the research outcomes of in-vivo studiesMaintaining accurate written and computer-based records for all studiesAnalysing large datasets and generating research reportsFrom time to time, other duties may include:Undertaking any necessary training and/or developmentCarrying out such other duties as necessary to assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory and facilities, including cleaning and maintenanceWhat you bring to MetseraPhD degree in related scientific field and 3+ years of experience or have equivalent academic, industrial, or commercial experienceDemonstrated experience solving program challenges by leveraging strong scientific fundamentals in related subject areas including, in vitro pharmacology, ex vivo pharmacology and experimental design.Knowledge of a breadth of techniques for exploring GPCR pharmacology, including biosensor or reporter assaysProven track record for cell-based assay development and optimisationProven ability to lead program development teams using project management skillsStrong leadership/interpersonal skills and motivation to work in a team environment with cross-functional interactions are essentialAdvanced computation, data analysis, and visualization skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEnterprise mindset, with decision making driven by an appropriately balanced consideration of driving the business and developing staffHave a co-operative, flexible attitude towards workAble to self-prioritise and mange own work with minimal supervisionA co-operative, flexible attitude towards work with ambition for professional and personal developmentPreferred: Experience in partnering with pharmacology SMEs and academics and collaborating with partner functions in chemistry and/or biologics.Working in a GLP environmentAwareness of emerging obesity pharmacotherapiesPrevious experience of working with biologicsNotice to agencies: Our in-house Talent Acquisition Team manages all employment opportunities at Metsera.
