Building Surveyor - London ALL APPLICANT MUST LIVE AND WORK IN THE UK IF NOT YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE PROCESSED Job Description Work within the London Office and on-site gaining skills, knowledge and experience of the Building Surveyors role, including Building Surveys, Building Pathology, Contract Administration and report writing and subsequent remediation works.Main Duties Will be assisted in articulating and explaining various types of defects found in a variety of buildings, providing reports with clear insights and recommended remediation. Working for a small team, reporting directly to the Team Leader/ Delivery Director assisting in Contract Administration and general Building Surveyor Activity. Assist with the general project management of both refurbishment, remediation and new build works to a variance of building types through all RIBA Stages. Work on projects based in and around London and occasionally elsewhere in England - valid UK driving license required. Have an interest in developing a career path within the built environment and develop the skills and knowledge consistent with the post of a Building Surveyor.Clients FreeholdersBuilding ManagersDevelopersPublic SectorSkills, Knowledge, Understanding and Learning To support colleagues by liaising closely with Clients, Residents, Contractors, Developers, Clerk of Works and other key Stakeholders. Develop an understanding of the requirements of the role of a Building Surveyor, completing works required by the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety legislation, using guidance from the regulator, with other internal and external project team members and in close collaborationwith the Manager/Team Leader. Experience of diagnostic, building pathology and reporting on residential, education and healthcare buildings. Basic understanding of JCT Contracts and Contract Administration duties. Understand what the key outputs (deliverables) are within a project, to ensure the Client gets the information they need in a timely manner. To understand and support the preparation of the key building information. Work towards completing a relevant professional qualification (supportwill be provided) or recently qualified.Pre-Contract Procedures and Administration Deal with/organising all pre-contract investigations, surveys and other due diligence issues required by Clients, including sustainability issues. Production of the Project Execution Plan. Assist with chairing and minuting pre-contract meetings; issue of minutes to all relevant parties. Assist in project management where applicable, other consultants on behalf of Client. Resident liaison. Assist in the preparation of detailed specification of works, performance specification and where applicable Building Regulations and contract drawings. Assist in amending Contract particulars, prepare Build Agreements andJCT Contracts. Assist in tendering (Single & 2-Stage) including procurement analysis and reporting. Assist in the preparation and issuing of Contract documents.Post Contract Procedures and Administration Attend and minute site meetings, issuing to all relevant parties. Regular site inspections; reporting of same. Timely issue of relevant instructions, certificates and notices. Will be assisted in contractor payment applications and advising client on cash-flow forecast etc. Assist in co-ordination of management of projects on a day-to-daybasis, ensuring timely and satisfactory delivery to Clients. Assist in the preparation of Final Accounts (claims where applicable) and issue final statements.Salary55,000
