Acting as a vital cog in the buying process, this role works cross-functionally across departments, manages supplier relationships, and ensures all system data and processes are accurate and up to date.The role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is committed to excellence, and is instrumental in driving supplier accuracy, cost reduction, and operational efficiency across the supply chain.Daily ResponsibilitiesEnsure supplier prices, product weights, and sizes are accurately maintained in the system, adopting a proactive approach to ensure 100% compliance.Monitor and manage 3rd party orders, communicating changes effectively to ensure timely deliveries.Work closely with the Supply Chain team to monitor the accuracy of supplier deliveries compared to orders.Collaborate with the Technical team to address and correct any quality concerns.Attend internal design feasibility meetings as required and provide input on product availability and potential challenges.Create and maintain customer specification and intake documentation for all products accurately.Weekly ResponsibilitiesMonitor orders against pre-season forecasts to identify and address discrepancies.Send forecasts to suppliers to ensure alignment and accurate planning.Approve supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreements.Maintain and update procurement-related information in company systems.Supplier Relationship ManagementCommunicate daily with suppliers, building strong and positive relationships while aligning them with customer and business expectations.Support the Buying Manager in supplier negotiations and compile relevant data to inform decision-making.Ensure suppliers understand expectations and meet performance targets.Seasonal PlanningSupport the preparation and implementation of peak planning for events such as Christmas, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, and Easter, ensuring accurate forecasts and timely execution.Other ResponsibilitiesAssist with the completion of annual obligatory returns.Support the wider Buying and MM Flowers team as required.What you can already doEssential skills & experiencePrevious experience in a procurement or buying role, ideally within FMCG, floristry, or a fast-paced environment.Strong organisational and time-management skills with a focus on accuracy and detail.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with procurement or system-based tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising between teams and suppliers.Proven ability to work proactively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Desirable skills & experienceExperience working within the flower, horticulture, or gifting sector.Knowledge of supply chain management and forecasting processes.Understanding of cost management principles and supply chain optimisation.So, whats the package?
